CRY BLANTYRE FLEA MARKET

Just a few days ago, a sarcastic fire rendered destitute thousands of youngsters plying their trade in the Blantyre Flea Market. The smoke that vanished into the sky, escaping from the wrath of the inferno mercilessly looting merchandise worth millions of kwachas, evaporated with hope and life for loads of youngsters.
Surely, these brothers and sisters did not yield all the stuff that occupied their benches, pavilions and stands overnight… it was all through extensive and intensive hardcore hussle so that they add meaning to their respective lives as well as that of their dependants. And to have the same vanish just at a spark of a flame is absolutely sad. Thousands of young lives have been smoked out!
Already, instead of giving hope to the victims, politicians are busy capitalizing on this to advance their ‘usual’ propaganda and turning the whole incident into a platform of castigating each other with the entire verbal arsenal. It looks like all the politicians did pretty much of a homework or mock test in anticipation of this Blantyre Flea Market saga and the moment hell broke loose, they were all over town preaching their selfish propagandas. Come on…people don’t eat politics! The misery of the victims of this tragedy is equal to those of millions of other Malawians who do not need politics in their quest of survival. Enough of politics this, politics that. People are suffering in this country and it is the same politicians that have betrayed a majority of people in this country… it cannot be overemphasized that the youth are the worst hit by this syndrome as they have been used, abused and dumped.
All in all, the amount of tears that erupted to cool hearts of victims of that fire are enough a flood to wash away the smoky politics engulfing us. Sincere condolences are due to the victims.
