This life of ours has so many faces both in the fortunate and
unfortunate landscapes. But as young people we tend to grow up on a
snail’s pace and ultimately we grow…as we grow, that growth turns us
old pretty fast with bundles of responsibilities.
We have in our midst, quite a good number of outstanding young people
who have excelled academically, artistically, socially and so on and
so forth.
When you hear stories of how these excellent people got to where they
are, you will begin to appreciate hard work, perseverance and
sacrifices. It is a fact that art is big monies elsewhere and that the
same is being underutilized despite having a tremendous amount of
talented young people in the country.
Suffice to say, one is never too young to be wise hence the need to
draw living examples from people that have made it and utilize the
same to ignite inspiration and aspiration.
People like Lucius Banda have made a modest living out of music.
Opportunity comes in many faces as well and when we see opportunities,
let’s not disqualify ourselves just because we are not ready. We might
not be qualified to do anything but let’s not disqualify ourselves
from doing anything.
This generation basks its glory in incredible talent. So much young
powerful minds composing a great deal of capable individuals. Away
with the belief that opportunities will fall on us just like that. Our
individual role models attained that status/swag because they created
opportunities where they were none.
Fellow youngsters, stand up for what you believe in, not what will
make you popular. If what you believe in makes you popular, then
that’s a plus. Otherwise, just because you don't know what you want to
do with your life, doesn't mean you're not going to do anything with
it.
