PEACE AMBASSADORS

Days when the youth were dragged into the political arena to cause havoc and misery to those harbouring parallel political views are well placed in the archives with dead hope of resurrecting such insanity.
That young were used as political terrorist is all history and revamping the same is a stinking nuisance standing as a terrific contempt to Malawi’s democracy. Young as we are, we strive to be in good books of history as instruments of change, peace, hope, sanity and oneness. This is a generation wholly bent on betraying destructiveness by building its pride on pillars of the truth, honesty and fairness.
It is not a question of hide and seek but the youth are double sure that Malawi has highly trained competent security personnel that offers protection to the first citizen. Therefore, empowering young people to eclipse the expertise of the legitimate security crop under the pretext of ‘instilling discipline’ to critics, beats the circumstances Malawi strives to dodge.
It is for real that youths did bad things in the past and this is regrettably a shameful wrong. All in all, it is ridiculously wrong to marry two wrongs. This is not only a betrayal to the right, but also a retrogressive backward thing that totals to youth abuse.
Young people in the country are developing clean CVs that need not be dainted with patches of manhandling and panel beating critics of what we subscribe to. No matter how strong the wind blows, it cannot corrupt the compass to distort its bearing of the north. Simply put, what is right needs no policing and the state has all the right machinery to police the entire outlaw not to the satisfaction of particular reign other than that of justice and rule of law.
Resist, reject and... wishfully youth should report violence. But to who? Signs of times indeed, only time will tell. Reality is calling, and the youth are the reality.
