WELCOME MR VUWA K

On a rebound, the ‘youngman’ himself Vuwa K is back in the youth league, or cadet hood (lol), after his verbal sprees at the information ministry. Surely, this time around he should be in the know that he is dealing with a delicate and dynamic group of people who have been victimized enough of the so called wise and dynamic political kingdoms. Ask Dr Lucius K, your predecessor who sadly overshadowed the whole activities of the ministry into a lump of some sports headquarters. The fact that most youth are active in most sports disciplines doesn’t automatically freeze all the other needs, policies and formulation of initiatives that cater for the young Malawian.
This country has a bag of problems and a half. And it’s the young generation suffering the most. The academic freedom tag war has left thousands of youths paralyzed intellectually, socially, morally, economically and psychologically. The unemployment rate among the youth is high, yet these young people are well qualified and competent. At one point in time, Youth and Reality highlighted the need to introduce a National Youth Day which would be a key forum to the discovery and exploration of issues of the youth. Malawi commemorates the International Youth Day, but is that enough? In the 21st century…  Seriously?
Mr Vuwa K, this time, distance yourself from the Dr Ntaba verbal kwasa-kwasa and extinguish that hangover from your ex- cabinet portfolio. The youth have had enough of the lip service, they want walking talks and not stocking them into some files that gradually sink in dust and rust at the Capital Hill.
Surely, there is no better time to deal with young people than now because they are so pro-active in the sanity of democracy and not in smoking it out. After all, youth are in majority…. Who says m’fweee? Shhhh!
